Join us for any of these classes July 9th, 2018 – August 19th, 2018.
Dance all week long with our dynamic selection of classes!
All classes are one hour unless otherwise noted.
5:00pm – 6:00pm: Breaking/Hip Hop Essentials (ages 8+)
An introductory class to the world of hip-hop; explore rhythm, isolations, and hip-hop choreography. Learn the basic moves of B-Boy breakdancing.
6:00pm – 7:30pm: DF Summer Workshop Series
Every Monday we will be hosting a different guest choreographer from the surrounding area for a master class. See workshop flyer for more details and for the line-up.
6:00pm – 7:00pm: Beginning/Intermediate Teen Hip Hop (ages 11+)
This high energy, intense class is sure to get you movin’ and groovin’ and not to mention… SWEATING!!!! Dress comfortably in non-restrictive clothing and sneakers.
7:00pm – 8:00pm: Adult Beginning/Intermediate Tap (ages 16+)
Classes will focus on establishing tap fundamentals, vocabulary, and basic rhythms in order to create more advanced combinations of sound.
6:00pm – 7:00pm: Tumbling & Technique
This class is a basic introduction into tumbling (somersaults, cartwheels, tricks, jumps, etc..) as well as a continuation/development of the stretches we need to be able to accomplish such tricks/tumbling skills.
7:00pm – 8:00pm: Contemporary (ages 8+)
Contemporary/Jazz incorporates a variety of techniques that focus on weight transference, fall and
recovery, movement on and off center, and slow and fast movement.
5:00pm – 6:00pm: Kids Sampler (ages 8 – 12)
This class combines the basic techniques of hip hop, jazz, ballet, and tumbling dance.
6:00pm – 7:00pm: Stretch & Strength
This lass will start with flexibility training, then the workouts will train the core, upper body, and lower body with a focus on muscle endurance and balance. This class is open to all skill levels and ages.
7:00pm – 8:30pm: Adult Beginning/Intermediate Ballet (ages 16+)
Some ballet knowledge required. This class will focus on technique, posture, and alignment. All ballet classes incorporate barre, center floor exercises, and across the floor movement.
4:30 – 5:30pm: Kids Beginning Hip Hop (ages 8 – 12)
This class will introduce young students’ to the basic style of hip hop movement. Hip Hop is about personal style and expression. This high energy class can be taught to anyone with a passion to move, so no dance experience is required.
12:00pm – 1:00pm: Creative Movement (ages 5 – 7)
This class is designed to get your little one moving and interested in dance! There will be a little bit of everything in this class including Ballet and Jazz technique, across the floor simple-to-understand combinations, dance games, and some light choreography.
1:00pm – 2:00pm: Adult Pre-Pointe/Pointe (ages 16+)
*MUST have teacher approval*
The focus of this class is on strengthening for pointe and pointe technique. All ballet classes incorporate barre, center floor exercises, and across the floor movement.
2:00pm – 3:30pm: Adult Advanced Ballet (ages 16+)
Advanced ballet will have an in-depth focus on advanced techniques such as advanced turns, jumps, and leaps. All ballet classes incorporate barre, center floor exercises, and across the floor movement.
4:00pm – 5:00pm: Adult Beginning Hip Hop (ages 18+)
This class is designed for our older beginner dancers in mind. This class incorporates a low-intensive cardio and flexibility-building warm-up. We will go through the basics of hip-hop progressions across the floor and choreography while leaving dancers refreshed and ready to conquer the world. No experience needed.
Where should I start?
Beginning level: 0-3 years experience
Intermediate level: 3-5 years experience
Advanced level: 5+ years experience
